My ’go-to encouragement’

Psalm 27:1

What we say to ourselves when we are discouraged shows the substance residing inside of us.

LD

The first words that meet our feelings and our unforeseen circumstances are an indication of what we really believe.

That’s another reason why I memorise scripture, I like that truth to be my first response in all. It’s not a positive chanting or lucky charm to me, it’s what my heart utters to my mind and body as the primary reply in all.

This one is one of my most used ’go-to encouragement’

“The LORD is my light and my salvation— Whom shall I fear? The LORD is the refuge and fortress of my life— Whom shall I dread?”

Psalms 27:1 AMP

When I feel insecure and in the dark  – He is my light

When I am afraid of what might come or happen – He is my salvation

When I tremble in pain and tribulations – He is my refuge

When I feel exposed, raw and running for my life- He is my fortress

I open my eyes every dawning with truth like that and I go to bed alike.

What is your ’go-to’ encouragement?
