Who are you when the titles that you call or present yourself are taken?
Who are you when ’mum, dad, professor, doctor, missionary, pastor, designer, auntie, runner, chef, businessman, president… are not any more? For us believers, the answer would be ’daughter/son of the mighty God, loved unconditionally, accepted eternally, belonging always with him.
That is true, still, how often do we live our lives from that secure place?
Mostly we rely on everything else but that. Oftentimes, crisis sifts through our lives and ’force’ us to cling to the one things that will forever be. Jesus!
David outs it like this: ”And me? I’m singing your prowess, shouting at cockcrow your largesse, For you’ve been a safe place for me, a good place to hide. Strong God, I’m watching you do it, I can always count on you— God, my dependable love.” ( verses 16-17 MSG)
