Enjoying God’s Name and Fame

Psalm 66:1-4

Enjoy = verb, meaning to take delight and pleasure, to possess and benefit from.
Enjoyment requires concentration and savouring. It is often what we do when we take time to learn to taste wine for example or new food and dishes that have been presented to us. We take in every sip and bite slowly and leisurely to savor everything.

It’s the process of ‘willing submission’ to what we want to taste and enjoy until the very end.

The name of our Lord remains something yet ‘uncharted territory’ for many of us. We might know it and hear it, but do we taste it, enjoy it?
Do we know the weight of his glory and fame? Do we bring his name, the name that every knee will bow down one day and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord to every moment of our lives?
Are we familiar with his greatness, his fame?

When we know him, we know ourselves. When we enjoy him, we rejoice in who we are because of him. Let’s do that often.
