Over my Head

Psalm 69:1-5

The arrival of a few ‘urgent’ emails this morning has got me feeling like drawing under their demands. Oftentimes, my life feels like all things rush in on me, like those crazy waters in a flood.

Perhaps your ‘problems’ feel more like that slow rising water until they find you overwhelmed up your neck.

There is no question that fear and misery are present. There is no shallows there, not standing on your strength. All is sinking.
“Save me O God” is our rock on which we stand.

Jesus, called when hanging on the deepest darkness of the cross to the Father ‘My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?’ (Matthew‬ ‭27:46‬ ‭NIVUK ) so that we will never be forsaken when we call for help, and especially when we are over our heads.

Thank you, Lord, that I don’t have to drown in the flood gate of my turmoil, I can call upon you and you have promised to be there with me.
