A gift of Laughter

Psalm 100

As a parent, I have no greater joy than seeing my kids happy. Their laughter and joy get imprinted on my mind like nothing else.
Psalm 100, the psalm of thanksgiving starts with an exhortation to all of us to make a joyful shout, to bring a gift of laughter ( The Message version) before God.
I always thought that to be ‘happy’ in church or before people was an obligation, but today, reading and studying this psalm has taught me that:

A happy God must be worshiped by happy people

Our God is not a miserable God, I know that many people think so, but it’s not true. If we believers have failed to understand that, then we have failed to understand the true nature of our God.
Its nothing here about ‘grin and bear it’ for the psalmist is inviting all the nations of the world to know the true nature of God, that He is good and that His love endures forever. To be convinced that he is the one and only God, that He has made us and that we belong to Him.

We are made new under the new covenant and attained access to the God of the Universe through Jesus, the incarnate God, His life and death and resurrection should make us all praise and give thanks with exuberance Joy.
We are His chosen people! Waw!
