Psalm 33:21

“We put our hope in the Lord. He is our help and our shield.”
Psalms 33:20 NLT
Every time I read the word ’help’ attached to God, automatically I think of another place where the same word is used to describe God’s purpose and destiny for women.
The word – help/helpmate/ woman [ezer] throughout the Old Testament does not suggest ‘helper’ as in ‘servant,’ but help, ’help’ savior, rescuer, protector as in ‘God is our help.’
It’s this picture of a warrior who has been called in desperate times of need for help. If he/she does not come there is no hope.
The woman, therefore, carrying that name is equipped to answer any call for help with strength and poise, with courage and wisdom. For she represents God who is always ready to help and bring solutions in hopeless times.
The woman (Ezer) is creative and audacious like her God.
She, created in his image is not made for safe environments, but to make every environment she is called to, safe.
