Protect me

Psalm 86:1-10

Safety comes from being near to the protector, not from being faraway from the adversary.

We are in the middle of a pandemic right now. Covid 19 has wrapped the world in its finger tight and whole. Everyone is affected. People, rich and poor, business, schools, hospital and governments are all in disarray. After one year on waiting for a vaccine, the solution seems even further now than it was. Fear and patient are wearing off, people seem to have had enough. I don’t blame us. People feel unprotected, vulnerable and helpless.

David must have felt the same way in writing today’s psalm. We don’t know why he is earnestly asking God for protection and help, perhaps better that way, we can relate to him, we are in his shoes.

GOD is our protector and help, no matter what chaos the world embarks in, he is with us, always.
So, we can ask God to protect us, and save us and love us with His grace when we feel bare. He is our shield and glory.
