Bow Before Him

Psalm 95:4-7

We need to shepherd our hearts.

If we waited until we were in a ‘worship mood’ to praise God, we would worship Him very rarely indeed. When praise is hard, prostration is needed.

Bow down until you are lifted up from God.

In the prodigal son parable in Luke 15 the son prepares to meet the father whom he has wronged and sinned against. His heart is broken and grieved, he does not stand in pride and arrogance, but humility and reverence.

The father, waiting runs to welcome him. Our Father runs towards us also and embraces us when we turn too him and bow down our knees.

He does not want to humiliate us, but to celebrate us.

Humility is a quality of the people that have kneeled their hearts to the Saviour of the world and the Rock of Ages. I have never seen a bowed knee not to have been lifted by GOD with grace and mercy.
